Figaro Si, Florian Là !

If Beaumarchais were to give a family name to Figaro, it would certainly be Sempey, so these two are one, to the point of sharing the same initials!

After the Parisian triumph of his Figaro at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées last December (alongside Catherine Trottmann), Florian Sempey sings again  his favorite role in this same production of Laurent Pelly at the Opéra de Marseille  for 5 performances of this Barbiere di Siviglia from 5 to 15 February  2018.

But the Parisian audience, who would have liked to keep him longer, will have nothing to envy the Marseillais! Florian Sempey, alias Figaro, will return to Paris but this time on the stage of Bastille and Michieletto's production. Figaro can be everywhere at once, and why not Sempey?

Satiated? Sempey? Never! He fell into the cauldron of rossinian potion and nothing could please him more than singing Figaro over and over again. To the delight of the Luxembourg public who will also have the opportunity to enjoy this exceptional baritone at the Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg from 28 February to 4  March 2018, still in the production of Laurent Pelly.

After France (Bordeaux, Paris, Marseille ...), the United Kingdom (London) and Italy (Pesaro and Rome), Florian Sempey has thus added another country to his Rossini's notebook; Luxembourg and no doubt that this is only the beginning of a great conquest since Spain, Japan or the United States are already waiting for the coming seasons.

But by then, our international Figaro will certainly have conquered the Chorégies d'Orange, where he will sing on 31 July and 4 August 2018 for his great stage debuts at the Théâtre Antique.

Before joining the cicadas of the south of France this summer, Florian Sempey temporarily put aside Rossini to serve Donizetti. First at home, in the clothes of Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux in April 2018 then, in those of Malatesta in Don Pasquale at the Palais Garnier (his other home) in June and July 2018.

And it is precisely at the Opéra de Bordeaux and the Opéra de Paris that he will shine brightly next season. Obviously with Rossini and Figaro, still in this production of Pelly, at the Opera de Bordeaux but also with Dandini at the Opéra de Paris (alongside Isabelle Druet). At the Opéra de Paris, it is a leading subscription that awaits him, since he is invited, in addition to La Cenerentola in two other productions: the new production of Les Huguenots (alongside François Rougier) and also the revival of die Zauberflöte. And other thrilling projects ...  but we'll come back!
